Long Story Short , We were out a deductible + $150 for decking and they did a great job . NeXgen Roofing showed up wanting to fly a drone over the house while I was gone a few weeks ago. I would have told’em to keep on going down the road but the wife let’em take a look at the roof. Turns out , it hasn’t been but about 7-8 years since we paid for new shingles, but they found hail and wind damage after all the investigating. I had a LOT of questions but mainly , #1 Is this gonna cost me more than my deductible? = Deductible + $75 per decking sheet . #2 How much is my insurance going up afterwards? = It actually dropped a little. This is the best experience I’ve had with Any insurance company since the early 90’s when we got a check for letting a roofing company do our house. I highly recommend NeXgen because they did a great job , worked with the insurance company, and cleaned up the place right when they were done. I’m hesitant to call ICE as well . The little Mexican woman that helped clean up was very nice. I’m sure glad we swapped to Travelers Insurance . Ask for Stuart at NeXgen.

I always consider that a scam. Especially when they say "hail and wind damage". Just a way for them to get a little money from you and a good bit from your insurance company. Never hurts to have a 2nd opinion. Then again, there isn't a roofing company out there that won't find "hail and wind damage" if they think they can juice your insurance company. If it is an older roof I'd probably just go along. If it's only 7-8 years old it should still be under warranty from the company that did it so I would check with them before I did anything. Just my 2 cents.

Same way I look at it . But after checking out everything and the insurance adjuster going up on the roof? I let’em do it . Saved me over $9k . If the roof had been over 10yrs old it would have cost more than the deductible according to the insurance guy? It looks real good. Funny how we got that big storm right afterwards.

I just had a good experience with Travers as well. Insured car hit me

We actually had a lot of hail last week. Anyways, I do feel it's a scam to get you to replace your roof. In my old neighborhood, I watched for years people replacing their roof about every ten years. We replaced ours when it started to leak. It was right close to what single life expectancy was. 25 or 30yrs, can't remember. So in 36yrs or so, we replaced the roof once. We were the original owners.
I get up on the roof every year and inspect it. Old house was twice a year. This one only needs once. The roof is much larger than the old one and it'll have to be replaced within the next 10yrs. The old one was like $5600 I think. This one will be expensive. Live in a larger home, it cost more money. Is what it is

Hail damage will accelerate granule loss and affect the shingles ability to shed water.

When a new hail date is available for an area, we’ll get all we can get. Unless it’s significant hail, your roof would probably be ok with small impacts. However, why not use your insurance if it’s a legitimate claim?

Save yourself 10-20k.

Wait till y’all start getting the cancellation notices because your roof is 15 years old. Or your policy switches to acv or rps at 10 years and when you need to use it, you’re footing most of the bill.
