So I was shooting this weekend and had a failure to eject. Come to find out the bullet barely made it into the barrel before it got lodged. Thank the good Lord it didn't make it 1/4" further down the barrel! Has anyone else had this issue with the Shields? I had a similar issue about a year ago with a Winchester white box round, this latest failure was with a Brass Max round from wally world.

Happens all the time-- especially with cheap reloaded ammo. I keep a brass rod in my range bag for pounding them out. I've had to use it more than once-- in one range trip-- shooting bowling pins.

It was the range ammo in the blue box both times. (Not my gun or ammo.)

Just pull the barrel, drop in the rod, pound the rod against the table or floor. The bullets come right out, unless they're halfway down the barrel, and even then, they'll come out with some more whacks.

I'm waiting on Smith customer service to open up. I've never had to deal with their customer service before. This being the second instance of a failure, I'm hoping that take of me. Both failures over the past year or so have been with factory loads. I've never put reloads through her.

You are clear that this was a squib load right-- without powder? It had nothing to do with the gun. You ought to be calling Tula, not S&W.

Tula ammo isn't exactly known for its high quality. My reloads are certainly better than Tula factory ammo.

Anyway, S&W isn't going to "take care of you". They're going to tell you the same thing I am, though maybe more politely.

I've put roughly 350-400 rounds through my 9 mm Shield thus far. Not an issue yet and Winchester white is my choice of target ammo. Be interested to hear what S&W does for ya and what the issue may be.
