I had a 16" model way back yonder, it was a good carbine. Shot good and never gave a problem. It had the 1/9 twist, so bullet weight was important, I tried 69 gr stuff once and it key holed.. Ended up selling it, as usual. Any folks still have one and shoot it ?

Had the Bushmaster varmint, or whatever it was called. It loved 55gr. Federal poly tipped factory ammo. Can't remember the part number of the ammo, but it had a gray tip and would print sub-moa groups with the stuff. This was back in the very early 2000s.

I always thought Bushmaster was a good one. Well the one I had wasn't all that good to me. I mean it functioned, but the trigger pull was something to be desired. Sometimes it was horrendous to pull. No rhyme or reason. It was an issued gun. A lot of others got the new S&W. I saw more problems with those.

Bushmaster and Olympic Arms were about the only competition for Colt at one time. I've had several Bushy's, no problems, I know about the triggers, but can be smoothed out. I have a Bushmaster still, my home carbine. My favorite, with an ALG Combat trigger and Eotech still.

Bushmaster was very good AR manufacturer before selling out to corporate America and relocating in 2007, sold again few years later and then a 3rd time in 2020.

Oh, that's what happened to them. Colt always ran good for me. The Andersons seem to be good too

Yes and yes. I have one. 16" V Match with a 1/9 twist and the A2 stock. It's been 100% reliable. I've only shot 55 gr. out of it. Light weight and a pleasure to shoot.
