Buying long gun in SC

Earlier today a SC based FFL told me that I'm allowed to buy a long gun from him without having it transferred to a GA FFL Is that actually the case?

Yessir! If you are physically IN South Carolina you can purchase a long gun with just your Ga drivers license and a background check. Not a problem at all. You cannot buy a pistol or a stripped lower.
