Camping sites North GA

Friends and I are wanting to camp out for a weekend, sit around the campfire etc.

Was looking at Unicoi state park, but $35/night seems steep for tent camping.

Would like access to Shower/Restrooms as my wife is not the outdoors type.

anyone have any suggestions of a good place that isnt quite so steep(im guessing Unicoi is expensive because of Helen). Where we can have a campfire, restrooms and a shower? Tent Camping.

Check Amicalola Falls, but I think most of the state parks will be about the same. Get the parks pass (called Friends of GA State Parks), it includes discounts and vehicle access.

Most any place is going to cost at least $25 or more, plus most places will tack on another couple bucks for each extra person.

If your going up towards Blairsville, I highly recommend Trackrock campground. It privately owned and well maintained.

Coopers creek in suches has campgrounds for maybe 10 a day bathrooms but don't think showers

I've heard nothing but good things about that place from a coworker. Would like to check it out sometime.

McCaskey Creek, Its in Cartersville and right off the lake. I want to say its like 25 bucks for the whole weekend, clean safe area and awesome to hang out!

Cloudland canyon is a little farther up here...but it's awesome! Tons to do
