I'm looking at getting into distance shooting spent my whole life doing cqb to intermediate range 300m or so any suggestions I was thinking of building anAR10 variant but my mind isn't made up any advice is welcome thanks

So are you looking for rifles advice, shooting tips, etc? There's more to shooting at distance than just having a larger caliber rifle.
MIRAGE, HEAT, HUMIDITY, IS THE RIFLING RIGHT HAND / LEFT HAND, AND OF COURSE WINDAGE AND ELEVATION.
Reading Wind Direction, watching the grass/weeds. These are just a few things to start with there are some very good guys on here to listen too.
You will need a good spotter too. A good spotter can help your learning curve go faster.
Hope you reload because there are a lot of things to consider, there also. You will entering into a whole new world.
Getting into your own bubble is necessary when shooting long range.
Good luck and aim for 10X Ring.
