always fun to find cosmo in a rifle you have fired a million times before and cleaned before, lol

havent fired my sks in two years, and after a satisfying day of shooting (putting maybe 60 or 70 rounds through the sks this trip), i needed to clean it (well need is a very loose term)

took off back cover, and while cleaning it found cosmoline all up in the back somehow. like wtf, i have cleaned it a bunch before this so i was a bit surprised. shoudl i be? i feel like this stuff reproduces and then hides

If it's cosmoline, that stuff has a relatively low melting point so it may have melted and become non-visible. It eventually dries back to its original state so its probably not "new". I wouldn't be concerned but I'm no cosmoline expert so take that with a grain of salt.

the gun runs flawless, i was just surprised to see it still around

i have had the rifle for years now and have fired it and cleaned it like a billion times, lol
