I cut pieces of old firehose and use as a sleeve over my chainsaw bar on my saws that don't have a plastic sleeve,also made covers for my axe heads,......one more,made a scabbard for my machete.

Firehose make great target hanging material. That stuff will take a bunch of abuse before breaking.
