I also posted this on GPDO so if you read it there disregard, Just trying to get the word out.

Saturday I stopped by Costco to pick up some groceries as I normally do every Saturday when I was stopped at the door and told that I could not enter the store with my firearm.

I carry a smith M&P .40SC that was lazily concealed under my polo shirt with about the bottom 3 inches of the holster sticking from the hem of the shirt. The guy checking the membership cards at the door stopped me and asked if that was a firearm pointing to my side, I did not say anything, nodded a good day and kept on walking. About 30 seconds later an African America lady whom was a member of management "Calandria" yells from about 10feet behind me "YOU CANT HAVE DEM GUNS IN HERRR!"

I turn around as she approaches and she informs me they don't allow firearms inside the store and that it's private property. I politely ask to speak with the store manager. The store manager Scott Gabac is an **** hole. He comes out and informs me that and I quote " THIS IS MY STORE AND IT PRIVATE PROPERTY YOU HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR GUN IN YOUR VEHICLE" I ask if this is Costco policy or his policy. He continues to be a jerk and says he works for Costco so his policy IS Costco policy. I then politely thank him and leave with the wife in tow leaving the cart full of groceries she has collected at their feet.

This morning I contacted their corporate office and spoke with a very nice customer service rep who was kind enough to forward me their weapons policy contained below in full:

Costco Wholesale is a membership-only warehouse club. It is not open to the general public. It restricts membership to a limited group of qualified individuals who agree to membership conditions. We have the right and the obligation to our members, to enact and enforce membership rules. The Member Service Employees at the exit doors are obliged to follow these rules. By obtaining a Costco membership card, our members agree to comply with the Membership Rules and the Privileges and Conditions of membership.

Costco does not believe that it is necessary for firearms to be brought into its warehouse stores, except in the case of authorized law enforcement officers. For the protection of all our members and employees, we feel this is a reasonable and prudent precaution to ensure a pleasant shopping experience and safe workplace. Our policy is meant to protect our members and employees in all warehouses around the world. This is not a new policy and we do not customize the policy for each individual city/county/state/country where we do business.

Our primary goal at Costco Wholesale is to keep our members happy. If you believe that our policy restricting members from bringing firearms into our warehouse stores is either unfair or excessively burdensome, or you cannot agree to abide by this policy, or you are dissatisfied for any other reason,Costco will promptly refund your annual membership fee in full.

Our SE Regional Office number is 770-905-8800.

So needless to say Costco will not see one more red cent of my money. I will be calling the regional office to make sure they get the message and I would encourage you all to do the same.

Tell them that Cinemark Century 16 in Aurora Colorado has the same policy. Only LEOs can have guns. How well did that work out?

I was going to re-up my membership but I will not now.

wow, I'm a member, guess I will be looking into Sams Club

I would encourage you to call the regional office and let them know that. I love Costco but I cannot and will not support a business that does not support 2A if I can help it.

We use Sam's...always CC so not sure what there company policy is but no signs prohibiting firearms. Does Costco have 'no firearm' signs?
Negative... No signs, nothing about it in the membership packet... I double checked
