Once again I'm trying to find a good dove hunting club to join or even just a good opening day hunt. I've looked for many years and have always been seriously disappointed. I've even joined what is supposed to be a really reputable and long established club only to be put on fields that have had little or no prep and few if any birds. Then, on the third hunt of the season, I find out that they have baited the fields to try and improve the situation. That's a big NOPE for me.

I'm not looking for some Argentina type hunt. Just someplace that I can get about a dozen shooting opportunities in a day of hunting. I'm not looking for a cheap hunt or even a close hunt, just a reasonably good hunt.

Any suggestions?

there's no such thing....looking will just disappoint.
I hunted my dad's fields....he always gave the good spots to his buddies...I was always in the gar hole...

I'm just looking for a reasonable place with a fair chance.

Bear44, I apologize for hijacking your thread.

Dardens?

I just did a quit search and can't find any contact info. Most recent GON article is from 2021. Are they still holding the shoot?

I read where your hunt was bad last year. Ours were always decent there before. I think the doves are gone. We had a good one in Griffin for years. Doves dried up. The best hunts were usually around Macon or even south. The Mennonites fields were usually fair. Its always hit or miss. We hunted the pay shoot route for decades. We have had no birds to , im covered in blood splatter. Lol After a little experience, bad fields are easily identifiable. If you can pre visit , it helps.

GON normally posts the pay shoots in the August issue.
