Hello ODT'ers!
I once again call upon you all to help me find a good Rifle for hunting and (more or less) precision shooting. I want to be able to hit a small hog at 300 yards with confidence. If i can do that, then i'll be a happy camper. so far .270 looks like the ideal round along with .308 and 30-06. So those are my top choices for the rifle.
I'm hoping to trade my AR15 for it. I wont go into the details, but $750 trade value(+/-). I have cash too, but that leaves a tighter budget.

Build or buy a 6.5 grendel upper for the ar. I built mine for about 400. Does everything .308 can do and shoots flatter out to about 600yd. You can use the lower you already have.

Depends. Good quality grendel for hunting and target is usually about $18 for 20. You can also get wolf to play with(only about 2-3 moa though) is cheap.

You're welcome. I love mine. Low recoil, sub moa with the ELD match, plus not too expensive.

The barrel I linked is $79. It's the 18". I got mine on sale for $50. It's 16". I didn't expect to be shooting anything smaller than 6" at 200yd. My expectations were exceded. 3/4 moa prone with a sling. I expect a better shooter could get more out of it.
