On Independence Day I ordered a 31.75mm front sway bar kit for my 2002, I believe the factory front sway bar is 24mm. It's a Hellwig bar from Michigan Truck Spring, and it should match up very well with this huge TRD/Hellwig bar I installed on the rear 22 years ago.

We're you having issue with stock bar?

Hey.. you’re tire raised-lettering is facing the wrong direction
When i was selling tires if it came on with black out we went back with black out. we would switch if the customer specified. Rarely did anyone request white out and if they did they were over 55

When it comes to sway bars, I am a firm believer in "bigger is better"... I have been upgrading my automobiles with larger sway bars since the mid 70's and it's always proven to be the right thing to do.

Gratification delayed.

"The HW7697 Hellwig sway bar you ordered is currently out of stock. We spoke with Hellwig and at this time we expect this kit to be available to ship in 6-8 weeks."

My experience with aftermarket sway bars is interesting. 100% of the time a stiffer bar (or adding a rear bar where there was none) made the car feel better on the road. Never once did I see lap times go down (autocross or road course amateur stuff) with a bigger bar. Adding a rear bar to my ‘66 small block corvette ruined the handling… brutal snap oversteer.

Unfortunately sometimes that’s a nice way to say they have discontinued an item. Hopefully you will get it aoon
It's not discontinued and I found another in stock on Amazon, so it should arrive in about a week.

I was able to cancel my original order.

I have witnessed that brutal snap oversteer in my rear view mirror when a vette attempted to keep up with me on an off ramp. He went off road and I circled back in my GTO to check on him, the vette's rear suspension couldn't handle the load, but he was ok.

I have installed the huge front bar along with new OEM end links.

I also installed the dog-bone style end link for the rear bar... better late than never, I bought this upgrade kit in 2017.

The original end link design for the rear.

The truck handles better, driver inputs are fairly precise for an old truck, it stays planted on pavement and the suspension is working well with the tires. I am happy.

I've had the Hellwig anti-sway bar combo on this old truck for a little more than a month and I can report that this upgrade does make the truck more nimble and fun to drive, this is a rewarding modification that inspires driver confidence.
