I hope everyone knows the quality difference between forged and Billet and the cost difference in a build! If you have built very many of these type rifle you understand that when you take a lower quality barrel and insert it in a lower quality upper, (I. E. Forged) it is easy to insert the barrel into the upper you can basically do with no anti-seize or lube and do it with one hand, the tolerance is good but not tight which decreases accuracy. But when you take a high quality RIFLE quality Stainless Steel barrel and insert it in a high quality billet upper the the tolerance’s is really tight you will almost always have to use anti-seize and have to tap the barrel into the upper because it is so tight which increases accuracy. I understand that barrel life is a concern but in reality how many of us will ever put 10,000-15,000 rounds down a barrel. Notice also I say RIFLE quality SS. Not just SS. This is just my experience please don’t blister me with comments. ( You can generally tell forged from Billet by looking at the trigger guard on the lower it will almost always be pinned where Billet will not have the pins and on the upper you will see a forging mark maybe a square or some kind of marking behind the bullet deflector, billet won’t have this mark. The only exception that I know of is with AERO products. Thanks Hank45
