Item Description: So about 25 years ago a buddy who had just bought a farm calls me and says “Tom, you need to come see this!” Turns out he was demolishing an old out building on his new property and found this wrapped in oily rags hidden in a wall. Since he was not a gun guy, he sold it to me. I was familiar with the Springfield Trapdoor rifles but had never seen one like this. It turned out to be an incredibly well done sporterization. Since the rifle had been altered already I decided to completely restore it to better than new condition. I spent hour upon hour sanding and polishing all the metal parts to a mirror shine then applied a flawless hot blue finish. Next I sanded the stock to a perfect luster smoother than a babies bottom and finished it with a perfect semi-gloss protective coating. The bore is like new and the gun shoots the cowboy 45-70 rounds with deadly accuracy. I have enjoyed this rifle for many many years and everyone who sees it says it is the nicest Trap Door they have ever seen. It is time for me to thin the herd. Please enjoy the pictures below and PM me with any questions you have. Asking is $2500.00. The only trade interest right now would be for high end bolt action pistols like a Porksword or QFix or a stainless .22lr lever action rifle. Thanks for looking Tom.
