I thought they did a special run like the OD and FDE models?

Are you sure? I have seen several of these new in store display cases with nothing to indicate that it was not a factory finish. :confused:

It sounds like you are agreeing with me? I've tried to do some googling and it appears that you can get Nickel Boron models straight from Glock. From all I've read a third party did the coating for them. While I like the look of it (more or less bi-tone) I don't see a need for a extra lubrous surface on a pistol. Glocks are run fairly dry as is. Now an AR would be another story.

I have not checked it at all, but I have seen nickel boron coated slides in display cases that appear to be stock, staright from the factory like that.
