Item Description: Up for sale is a 5 shot .31 caliber Colt's Patent Pocket pistol. All numbers match. The gun is dated 1853. Included is something rarer than the gun itself: the original military style flap holster. These were found almost entirely on private purchase officers firearms, among which the Colt Pocket was the 2nd most popular such pistol on both sides. The gun and holster are both 170 years old, there is pitting on the gun but no active rust. Brass is not corroded, wood grips are solid. Hammer locks back and cylinder rotates.
