Item Description: Here is the Merwin & Bray .30 Cupfire pocket revolver. This one was produced in 1866 and is an example of American ingenuity at it's finest. If you have never heard of this gun or cartridge, you aren't alone- They stopped production in 1867 or so and the rimfire cartridge hasn't been produced since 1889. The entire gun and cartridge were designed to get around the bore-through cylinder patent, and it worked but never caught on. (Look them up- they are really very cool). You won't be able to shoot it because there is no modern production ammo out there, though you can find original cartridges online to put with the pistol for display. It's a neat piece of Americana that you can hold in your hands and stump your other gun buddies from identifying!
