Beautiful Colt commercial model Government 1911 with 4 digit serial number! The serial number dates it to 1913 per Colt website but some charts date it to 1912 so I'll say late 1912 to early 1913 making it 108 years old. The elderly man that owned this gun before me was the second owner with his father being the first owner. He loved this pistol and it shows. The oil blue finish is original and in remarkable shape. The pistol overall is in pretty amazing condition and functions smoother than any of my modern 1911s. Markings are super crisp except the Rampant Colt in which the previous owner attributes to him and his father riding the thumb safety when they shot. He did unfortunately replace the sights with target sights and I do not have the originals. He also changed the barrel at some point and did not have the original. If you need anymore pics or have questions feel free to message me. I believe I am pricing this very conservatively at $2500 seeing that any I found for sale were going for 4k plus. Meet close to Carrollton. I may do a trade or partial trade. Guns, multi guns, guns plus cash.. main interests would be other Colts, Kimber Ultra or Pro Raptor, High end compact or commander sized 1911s, Ruger No.1, Ruger Mini 14 (no synthetic stock), Nice subguns (pcc), P229 Legion, antique guns. I will look at any offers but I will be extremely picky on this one because I will probably never have another one.
