Item Description: The Remington 700 Police LTR (Light Tactical Rifle) features a heavy fluted barrel and HS Precision stock. The LTR's stock is slimmed down to improve portability and reduce weight. The stock incorporates a full-length bedding block with hex-head Allen screws to secure the barreled action, and make the barrel free floating. It also has an extra sling stud at the front to mount a bipod. These special features plus the excellent Timney Gold trigger make this rifle extremely accurate.
All Model 700 rifles feature cold hammer-forged barrels. The method of hammer forging produces stronger barrels than any other barrel-making process. It also ensures excellent barrel-to-barrel consistency. Model 700 barrels have exacting bore and rifling dimensions, as well as a carefully tuned exterior contour. The flutes in the 20″ LTR barrel not only assist in weight reduction and heat dissipation, but are engineered to enhance barrel rigidity for pinpoint accuracy.
