I am curious.
Referencing the LaBounty Barrel:
The only google info I found on “LaBounty barrel” indicated that Mr. LaBounty had a shop that could rebore barrels to a slightly larger caliber by following the original rifling.
Rebored barrels are said to be as a good or better than new barrels—due to the stress relief occurring with the use of the barrel as it heats and cools.
Is it a rebore?
Did it start out as a 30-30?

If I remember my history correctly, the Number 3 was never offered in 30-30.
Looked up the same and came to the conclusion it is a rebore to it's current
caliber. A good looking gun, if I didn't already have a few single shooters in that caliber
would be chasing it. Hope this helps.

The No. 3 was chambered for .22 Hornet, .223 Remington, .30-40 Krag, .375 Winchester, .44 Magnum, and .45-70.[
