Item Description: All,
One of the finest NOS rifles in my collection...
Up for sale is one of my "New" S/A Production from the Post Korean War Era...
Serial # 5,866,xxx with a barrel date of May 1955
M.E. = 0.5
T.E. = 2.0
Rifles parts are all correct, with 65 SA prefixes on all numbered parts... with the stock having a beautiful mint large DAS cartouche...and circled serif P proof on the wrist... the wood does have a minute amount of storage dings, most are in the wood over the chamber, what I refer to as top wood... Chamber is in the white, as it should be...
It was sold as a Correct Grade to a family friend from the North Store, Port Clinton, OH...
I bought it from the estate after the gentleman passed away... The Original cert was lost, I paid to have the serial # traced and the letter from CMP confirms what it is... It will go along with this rifle when sold and delivered to the new owner...
There is still storage grease in the recesses and internal corners of this rifle... So I am safe in saying this rifle remains unfired since it was sold by CMP originally in July 2011.
Most Garand guys know what a Correct Grade is and how hard they are to find nowadays... Last year at CMP North, during the Camp Perry national matches, about a dozen Correct Grades were put out by CMP at $3000.00 plus tax and all their rifles sold within 48 hours...CMP has not had one on their sight to buy in over 5 years...

This rifle is absolutely beautiful, a time capsule from 1955 Springfield Armory...
This rifle has NO excuses...

Thanks for looking and thanks to ODT...
