Im looking for a 5 by 4 slab of Black Walnut for a table. Lets say 4 inches thick. What are we talking as far as cost

Do you mean 5' long by 4' wide???

One slab that size will be quite expensive, several thousand i am told. I have not had any black walnut that large, 16"-20ish" is the largest i have. Book-matching two or three slabs together will be your easiest and cheapest option. Also , keep in mind most live-edge slabs are usually cut between 1.5" and 3" in thickness, completely dry, a 4" slab that size will be very heavy. Keep that in mind in your build, i hope this helps and let me know if i can cut something for you!

What do you charge to just cut a tree about 2 feet in diameter? Hauled to you for cutting.

If i can put it on the sawmill and cut it up .35 cents bdft for hardwood and .30 for softwood. If i have to break it down with the chainsaw mill first its $ 75.00 an hr to break it down and then by the bdft to finish sawing it up.
