up for sale is this beautiful model 53 Smith 4 screw. complete with box paperwork, tools, both cylinders
and the cartridge sleeves. the revolver is believed to be only factory fired it appears that way when
you look at the cylinders. the 22 cylinder has no turn line and the other is so light you hardly notice it
but can bee seen. the box is in fair to good shape with tape on the 4 corners of the top. i am asking
a prime price for this one as you can see but will be glad to entertain offers. thanks !!! i would like to
sell it but it won't break my heart if it does not sell. $2200.00 or best offer !!! serial number K 462039

I'm most likely just showing my ignorance of the topic since I know very little about S&W guns, but.... why would you need inserts, which this set obviously has, unless one of the cylinders is for the .22 Remington JET like many Model 53s, and the inserts were included for firing the .22 long rifle? If one cylinder is .22 LR and the other is .22 magnum, wouldn't the inserts be superfluous?

...and just to be clear, I mean this in no way as a negative observation - I'm just trying to understand what this is.
