Item Description: Have a New, never fired Springfield Armory Loaded M1A with medium weight NM barrel, NM sights and trigger, all set in a Sarco, reproduction M-14E2 stock. Comes with older, very nicely built repro M-14 bipod. Think it was sold by IMA? Maybe Sarco in the old days? I do not believe it is true G.I. Surplus. I have had it for 30 plus years. But it looks very close in quality to U.S.G.I.. These are way better than the current, Chinese made POS. Comes with original Springfield Armory rifle bag and 10 round mag, plus a 20 round mag as well. There is black electrical tape around the bipod feet, to protect the finish. It is easily removable.

Included is an E2 sling, vented style upper hand guard, and the proper bayonet lugged front sight/flash hider. It looks fully proper M14E2! This rifle should be nicely accurate, due to the snug fit between the rifle and the stock and the snug fitment of the trigger group within the stock and action.

When the US Army was trying to develop the M-14 into a Squad Automatic Rifle, to replace the BAR, they developed a version with a medium to heavier weight barrel, not the original rifle weight barrel. That rifle was designated the M15. But like many things, it fell by the wayside after a bit of time and the standard rifle was put into an newly developed and procured E2 stock, with the purpose of simplifying logistics and the tacit acknowledgement that the M15 really didn't offer a whole lot of advantage. Certainly not for sustained full auto fire, but I think it is the perfect blend of extended fire capacity in a semi auto build without the excessive additional weight of a full heavy machine gun barrel. The rifle, without the bipod, as so many BAR gunners disposed of their bipods during Korea, makes for a quick action, snap shooting dream. The extra barrel weight is well centered and balanced. The pistol grip stock with fold down forward grip offer a very quick handling full sized rifle. That's the way I would carry one if it had to become an every day necessity. Leave the bipod at base camp.
