Dumb question, how can I look at a 1911 and realize if it is a Standard or Slim grip? I assume, when I go from one to the other, I need new screws, correct?

If they grip bushing are not too large, then you can use same screws, etc. It not the screws, its the bushings that may or may not need swapping for standard to thin grips.
