Item Name: FS Winchester 1897- Pump 12GA- Price Drop!
Location: Lula
Zip Code: 30554
Item is for: Sale Only
Sale Price: $150... no takers?? Might just have to fix it up and make it my own shooter!
Caliber: 12GA
Willing to Ship: Yes
Bill of Sale Required?: No
Item Description: Up for sale is a Winchester 1897 12ga pump with a modified choke barrel. The gun is missing some parts. The pump/bolt cycles fine, but the hammer is dead, meaning no spring tension. A mainspring should get it to firing condition. The hammer will thumb down and can be released forward by firing the trigger and thumbing the hammer up. Also the stock has a small crack on each side of the tang/bolt hole. Fore end stock is missing. Front sight bead has been filed off.
No buttplate, there is a piece of paper in the buttstock which lists the parts the gun needs. I have no idea who put the paper there or when it was put there. I haven't put a bore mop through the barrel, but at a glance I didn't see any rust/pitting.
These sell for $600 and up depending on model and condition. This one is not a US Army stamped gun and I believe was manufactured in 1921 last time I checked serial number. Can ship for $60 if the buyer wishes.
