Hey guys I am finishing up taxidermy work on my gator head that I harvested last year. This is the first gator head I have attempted taxidermy on and I would like some input from you guys on how its turned out. First I skinned and cleaned every bit of the meat that was in the head out and trust me there was plenty in there! I had to use an oscillating tool to cut out the upper palate of the mouth and inside of lower jaw bones to remove all meat. I rebuilt inside of mouth, top of head and neck with urethane foam and apoxie scult. I tried my best to paint close as possible to natural colors. I still need to stain the base. Clear coat the head to give it the wet look. Then add the fake palmetto leaves around it to simulate the gator coming out of a palmetto bush then its going on the wall.

Thanks pal! I am a utility contractor by trade but I do some taxidermy as a hobby since I am an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. I got tired of making my taxidermist rich so I decided to learn a new skill.
Keep it up ! You are on the right path ! It looks great IMO
