I picked up a new Gen5 G47 a little while back with everything from the factory as is.

Two of the 3 mags will take 18 rounds without a problem…

One will only load 17 as normal.

I have a few extra gen5 17 mags and all of them only take 17.

Why do two of the three easily load 18 rounds?

Has anyone else ran across this?

Affirmative, 100% stock configuration Glock 17 mags that came with the G47.

I do not recommend loading 18rds in those magazines.

More than likely, you are dealing with tolerances, not only with one mag to another, but the tolerances on the diameter of one 9mm round to another.

That's like when you can oftentimes fit 31 rounds in a 30rd Magpul AR PMag. Loading with 31rds can adversely effect reliability, and ain't recommended.
