Georgia Gun Shops: Sharpshooters USA

Went there last weekend to meet a buddy of mine from Suwanee - I thought it was nice. They had a pretty decent selection of new stuff, not a lot of consignment, a few AR/AK's, hunting rifles and shotguns. Not the most I've seen lately, but far from the least. They had plenty of new pistols, all seperated by manufacturer, not caliber. Strong selection of cleaning supplies & accessories of all types, heck, they even had concealed carry purses for the ladies. I did not see much reloading stuff at all. Maybe I missed it, or maybe there is none, not sure.

The store and range are new, well-lit & spotless. They had plenty of help at the counters, and the guys seemed OK to me. The range has excellent ventilation and digital retrieval with lighted target carriers. I liked the see-thru booths and full-width finished wood benches with 2 wells each. I think their price of $20 plus $15 additional shooter are a little on the high end, but so is their facility.

Only critiques I have are they need better back-lighting behind the firing line - at least for my half-blind eyes, and I don't like the handwash sink in the range vestibule room - thats not where I want to drop my stuff and clutter for others to have to step over/around. Maybe they also have a bathroom for that but I never looked for one. Also, the entry to the range is locked - you must be buzzed in. Once in, you can get out by pressing a door release. Not sure why - nobody else does this.

Overall good visit, I would return again.

Ill have to try Big Woods Goods. Sharpshooters has the best ventilation i have seen and every range is rated for a .308. They have 2 that go up to 50 bmg. Unfortunately, I dont have one! I am going to start up with some of their classes too
