Years back a lady whipped her kid in Winn Dixie and got arrested, made the news big time. A few weeks later I had a kid raising hell in front of my counter and the mother looking desperate. I told the lady that this wasn't Winn Dixie and that she was welcome to the usage of a private back room, a few minutes later she returned with a well behaved child.

Good call by both you and the mom. A lot of parents just don’t care nor make an effort to try to instill any discipline or self-respect and then they wonder why their kids grow up to be meth heads, felons and losers.

Way back when my last daughter was still in booster seats we went to the IHOP in Warner Robins for dinner. She started acting up and screeching loud. I snatched her up and took her to the car. I refuse to be that parent that ignores the bad behavior and acts like nothing is going on.
Nit long after that I sold a Ford Festiva to a kid from NC for $2700.00 and met him in Jackson to do the deal. So we went from there back to Macon and went to Carraba's for lunch. You probably noticed how the wait staff likes to bunch everyone in the same area close to each other. I HATE that. We were seated next to a young couple that I saw getting out of their Honda Oddysy in the parking lot. They had AT LEAST 3 kids and those kids must have been on a sugar high. So my wife and daughter went to the lady's room and when they came out we were at a different table. I told our waitress "I don't get to take my wife out very often. So I'm NOT gonna have it ruined by hyper kids at the next table. " She found us a much better table immediately. I don't have anything against folks with big families but I don't want to put up with their routines either.

Amen. Good parents discipline their children. That's what's wrong with this country now

Part of it is fear. Another is they are a product of their upbringing and no self respect for themselves or anyone else

Years back my sister in law spanked her, unruly at the time, childs leg while he was in the shopping cart. A lady walks up to my 4 foot 2 inch sister in law and says she is going to call the law. SIL told her to be sure to tell them to send an ambulance because she was going to need it by the time they got there. The lady went to another isle pretty quick. There is a difference in discipline and beatings.
