Has anyone here ever heard or has experience with the LoRa mesh network it seems like a great disaster preparedness. I just got my radios and I’m starting to play around with them and wondered if anyone else heard of it

No, but there's all sorts of interesting modes in amateur radio nowadays, that after being licensed 30+ years I now prefer a simple sideband CB rig and home-brew antenna'
I don’t have my ham license yet but i have my gmrs license and been using it and cb for a while and made hombrew antennas for them. One thing that peaked my interest with Lora is its license free txt based communication that Bluetooth to your phone and can be used without cell service through the app. I was thinking it would be good for keeping intouch with family members or friends that have no interest in getting set up with ham/gmrs.
