Rarely does one find an affordable product that exceeds expectations but I have: Hawke Vantage scopes.
I heard about these on YouTube from Cyclops Joe. He’s a nut but I like his scope reviews and short format videos. He recommended Hawke as the best and only good option for a sub $150 scope.
Over the past year or so, I’ve now owned four Hawke Vantage scopes and a hunting buddy has owned two. I have a couple on 22s and one on a 243. He has one on a 7 Mag. I’ve been nothing but impressed with their performance for the money. They’ve all tracked perfectly, held zero, have pretty good glass and decent light transmission. We even had to send one back when the rubber eye piece broke from use: they replaced the scope no questions asked.
I think they now occupy the space Nikon used to as the entry level king of hunting scopes. I may even try one of their higher end offerings eventually. I’d place these well above the Vortex Crossfire II and probably equal to the Leupold VX-Freedom line. They’re also one of the few companies still offering fixed 4X scopes.
Just wanted to shout out what seems like a solid company still making what a lot of others don’t anymore: a no frills, affordable hunting scope that just works.
