I just bought a stripped barrel and a front sight base from JSE Surplus. The front sight base was pulled off another barrel that is going to be modified with a different gas block. I was told to drill and tap the front sight base and secure with set screws. Is this method advantageous? Should I ream and re-pin? If you have some input please do not hesitate to respond.
