Looks like they pretty much have run off with the milk, the cow, and the whole damn farm:

Guess we will have to invent some new **** for them to steal. Reading this list, I think they copied absolutely every new weapons system we have come up with for the last 20 years or so.

(And for some reason, they still have most favored nation trade status....)

And the best part is that we are essentially paying them to do it. Our trade imbalance, if I'm not mistaken, completely or nearly completely funds their military. We have only ourselves to blame. The USA doesn't really "make" much of anything anymore.

Trust me. The us.gov isn't stupid in that aspect. It allows other parties to steal certain information. It's a deterrent to tie up resources and thwart other critical info from being stolen. Its probably a large part of our counter-surveillance efforts.

I beg to differ.

Just about all these chips come from China. This sort of thing can be thought of as a hardwired Trojan Horse. China can activate this part of the chip remotely-and see what the machine is up to.

There may be some super-top-secret stuff that the Chinese haven't made off with, but my understanding is that this is how they got into the F-35 program. At any rate, I think this goes way beyond counter-espionage. (I am sure you are right about some of the stuff they are getting, but I think they vast majority of the tech they got is genuine. These things were running for a while before anyone ever discovered them.)
