Hey guys just picked up a G30 yesterday with a good amount of holster wear. It doesn't really bother me since I will be carrying this gun and its going to happen. I know some of you say its adds character, etc. But what steps can be taken to prevent this?Cerakote? And yes I know its just a Glock...

Only way to prevent holster wear is to leave it at home. Sooner or later, its Gonna happen. Hell, once my 9c is fully worn ill cerakote it fde just for kicks.

Cheap pieces of poop holsters like uncle mikes.

It's like owning a new car. Your better off just kicking a dent in the side of your car while its in the driveway. For sure, vehicles with no dents or marks on them, are targets for other vehicles. Your carry weapon is gonna get some BooBoo's. I reckon your gun will shoot just as good with holster wear on it.........unless of course, your gonna enter it into a beauty contest.

Holster wear does add character. Holster wear looks good to some. To me, too much holster wear makes the gun look worn out, even though it isn't. There is little you can do to protect against holster wear, but waxing does help. Waxing adds a little protection. It doesn't take much time and it is very easy. If you did it twice a week that would help. Some of my friends who carry professionally use it and they say it cuts down on the amount of wear. Just a thought.

A weapon without carry wear is a weapon not being used. Its like a man without scars. Chicks dig scars. Carry Wear makes a gun sexier, but only if YOU put it there. Otherwise youre showing off another mans scars.

x2. I say have it finished in whatever color you choose; personally my favorite is Tungsten. That way you can have a fresh start and be well on the way to putting your own 'mark' on the gun, pun intended.
