I've gone through all of the settings menus and I can't figure out how to turn it off.

I put my phone on silent before I go to bed for a reason. At 1am this morning it started blaring a siren at me like somebody started a ****ing nuclear war. Now I'm running on 4 hours of sleep, I barely made it through my morning workout, and I have go to all my work meetings today looking like the walking dead.

I know this sounds insensitive and I'm sorry that someone is missing but what am I supposed to do about it? Do you expect me to get out of bed in the middle of the night and go look for this guy? How many car accidents have these caused because now people are sleep deprived driving through Atlanta traffic?

IOS?

Tap the Settings app to open it, then tap Notifications.

Scroll to the bottom of the screen to find the section labeled Government Alerts. Amber alerts and Public Safety Alerts are set to on/green by default; tap a toggle to switch that alert off.

Tap Emergency Alerts for a few other options. From there, you can control emergency alerts without affecting the option you chose for Amber alerts in the last step. This is also how you stop emergency alerts from bypassing silent mode.

Had a similar experience as you when I was working in South Texas. Except I was getting like three day multiple time for a week. Surprised there’s any kids left down there tbh.

Can’t you cut the phone completely off.I’m assuming you don’t use it for a alarm clock on silent.
