How far away is your primary home defense gun from you RIGHT NOW?

If the door to your house or apartment was kicked in RIGHT NOW, how far away is your primary home defense gun( if you're at home of course)?

Do you ever practice shooting at night/low-light with a tactical flashlight and if you had to use your gun and/or light to defend your home & family THIS very night , would this be the first time?

Or how far away are you from it in the mornings when you're getting ready for those that work days?
In our area there have been at lot of break-ins between 9:00-10:30.

My mother-in law came back home about 1 1/2 months ago at 10:00 in the morning to find out that her rear door had been kicked in...she went inside(!),called 911, who asked her if she wanted them to stay on the line with her while SHE(!) checked the house to see if anyone else was still there...spectacular.

Completely oblivous though she's a great lady...

My glock 19 is ALWAYS with me. I keep the holster on me til I go to bed. Then its right next to my pillow. If im in the shower its in a ziplock bag. Glad your mother-in-law is ok!

I keep an AK or AR leaning on the nightstand. So either way I have access to something.

Glock 22 about 2 feet away from my bed. Rechargeable Maglight on nightstand next to bed. Took a low-light handgun class years ago as a LEO. Night sights are well worth having. Also have a 12 gauge about 3 feet away.

I have a pistol on my pants right now, but my main would I would use If I had a choice is in the next room over. main reason i would pick it is it has the night sights and a tac-light on it and I am very good with that one, plus it holds ten more rounds than what I have on me right now...

It would be the first time inside the house, but we have dealt with people in our backyard trying to steal stuff before and we lit the ground up around them to let them know we meant business. The last time we were broke in to was in the middle of the night and we were asleep, didn't notice the guy was there till the alarm went off to get up to go to work and heard some one busting through our front door running out....

I won't disclose where all my HD/SD weapons are hidden, but I don't sit around with one on my hip. Regardless...let's just say that I am never more than 15 feet from a gun no matter where I am in the house...most of the time much closer. I have my choice in several rooms of the house...

Don't break into my house in the middle of night...you won't like what you are greeted by from an elevated position. And I don't need a tactical light...your silhouette will be backlit by the streetlight that shines through my foyer windows...and the only easy way in or out of my house is the front door.

i have a charter arms 38 on me all day until i go to sleep ...then i have a holster with a different revolver attached to the wall next to the bed i frequently run through low light and two or three man sweeps of my property ( had some folks break into my kennel a few months back and start releasing my dogs just to spite to bad my dogs are so spoiled they wouldn't even leave the pens lol ) always have to go check all the barns and the rv when i have a sneaking suspension
