I’m sure there’s multiple threads somewhere that touch on this. But search brings up too much non related crap.

I’m curious how many rounds y’all shoot and how often? Especially those who only go to a range to shoot. And I’m mainly talking about handguns. Most folks only run a few rounds through their hunting guns each year.

So how often do you shoot? How many rounds per session? How many different guns per session? I often take for granted how fortunate I am to be about to walk out my door and shoot to my own content, any time I wish. I know most folks can’t do that. Can’t imagine only being able to play at a range……

Do you practice driving nails with a hammer?

A few hundred rimfire per year for plinking.
A box or two of rifle cartridges per year for practice and hunting.
A few hundred handgun cartridges per year for practice.
Several hundred shotshells per year for clays and hunting.

How many rounds I fire per training session can vary wildly, depending upon what I'm working on.

If I'm working on room clearing, for instance, there will be very little rounds fired.

If I'm working on use of cover, shooting while moving, ECQS, D&D, etc., rounds counts will be much higher, but still vary from skill set to skill set.

Quantity of rounds down range does not necessarily equate to the quality of the training.

Note to self, never buy any of Bess’ guns…

Especially if it had a rainier arms barrel. 😂😂😂
Truth is I only get out a few times a year these days. Ammo is to damn high for me to be out buring through 1 dollar per round ammo. I shoot my 22 mag more often because I can do that in my yard. My 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5 PRC have less than 40-50 rounds a piece. And that's including break in. My AR-10 in .308 probably has less than 20 rounds through it. I just haven't taken it out to test it yet. I just put a scope on it in the last couple weeks so I had a good reason not to take it out.

alexs2006 alexs2006 2006 if you had my 6.5 Creedmoor Barrel you'd be ready to go to Mardi gras!
