Please watch the video as I personally made it to spread awareness to a Veterans real life once returning home from war.
My husband provided convoy security while deployed to Mosul Iraq for 1 year. He was involved in a number of firefights and subsequently injured when his vehicle was directly hit by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device). He now suffers from a Traumatic Brain Injury, Severe Prolonged Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Tinnitus, Injury to his Shoulder/Arm & Both Knees & Cluster Headaches & Migraines. Not only could he not work due to his injuries but I then lost my job of 5 yrs in a company wide workforce layoff. He now requires my assistance due to his symptoms becoming debilitating as he is having either Migraines or Cluster Headaches (worse than migraines) daily & they are accompanied by symptoms of Dysphasia & Aura. Our unemployment benefits were soon exhausted and now his current income isnt even enough to cover rent let alone food, utilities, expenses. We are still awaiting VA compensation for the remainder of his claim & caregiver program. We have no food for days at a time and just recently no place to live. We lost most of our belongings throughout all this. Thankfully we are not out in the cold anymore but still risk homelessness & utility shutoff every month until the VA starts paying the remaining compensation. We have a need for many things(clothes/furniture/appliances). Our truck battery is bad and the back window got busted out and needs replacing. We are grateful for any assistance, your help can give us a home again and show him that America still cares. No Veteran should have to return home and be forced to live like this. Our wish and Walmart wishlist can be viewed at http://wishuponahero.com/wishes/?id=1429083
Thank you for taking the time to hear our story & God Bless. PLEASE if nothing else I ask that you PLEASE share our story & forward to everyone you can or recommend it on Facebook, whatever it takes to help the world hear our story.
