Tough to tell. Definitely need better pics. Appears to have gone through RIA for an arsenal rebuild. Frame is Remington Rand going off the serial number.
Remington Rand serial nbr produced in late 1944. Has been thru RIA as a rebuild. But it has been refinished since the arsenal visit. That is not a military color. To light. The edges have been rounded via buffing. Arsenal did not buff, they sand or bead blasted leaving a rougher finish and sharper edges. Grips look correct. All I can tell with the pictures provided.
i really could not zoom in anymore it does have "p" on top of the slide there is a "p" below the clip eject button a "FJA"at slide catch on the right side of the trigger guard a two "H"s
does that help any of you guy
Its a Remington Rand, it has been refinished,Rock Island refinished it after WW2, it has the arsenal markings, as far as being refinnished after that, who knows, this thing is as gi as you can get, I know this because he got it from me
The "P" and the "H" are typical inspection markings found on any military 1911. The "FJA" are for Frank J. Atwood. The inspection initials used on Remington Rand and Ithaca built 1911s.
