I just got my Rainier Arms Mountain Series barrel in the mail. This is the first time I've every received a barrel new in the packaging. Everything looks great, bore looks clean and shiny after running the bore snake a few times except at the very end. I can't tell if this is rust (can chrome lining rust?), or it's just some grime the bore snake isn't getting out. I need to buy a bore brush to really find out I guess, but I soaked it in solvent and ran the snake through it a few times with no change in results.
