Item is for: Sale Only
Sale Price: $60

Bill of Sale Required?: No
Item Description: If you like antique swords, up for sale is an antique short sword from the Democratic Republic of Congo. We believe it to be from the Ngombe tribe. It is from the estate of an officer in an international NGO, who worked throughout Africa and Asia during the 1980s to mid-90s. She would buy local art and artifacts in villages she was working. This one is one of her purchases.
It has a hand hammered approximately 18 inch blade. The blacksmith skillfully folded the blade along the spine to create a light, but stiff blade. He also created the identifying quarter Moon cutouts in the blade, just before the handle. The handle is carved wood. The grip is wrapped with handmade copper wire. It is a little over 25 inches overall and just over 4 inches wide. She had estimated it was made in the early 20th Century. Still very sharp! There is no scabbard.
Our price is now only $60. Will meet at the Bass Pro Parking lot. Will ship for an extra $12.(It’s not like it’s breakable)! CONUS sale and shipping only. Our choice of shipping. Reasonable offers considered.
