Item Description: 1894 WWI era Italian Carcano Long Rifle chambered in 6.5x52mm.
My father gave me this rifle a few years back and he had bought it from a pawn shop. I had the rifle inspected by Moss Pawn & Gun in Jonesboro GA and their gun smith inspected the rifle and gave it a thorough cleaning. One of their gun experts explained to me that this rife is somewhat special because most of these rifles were chopped in half by soldiers (underneath where the metal band holds the barrel to the frame) so that the gun would fit in their military duffel bag. It also has a stamp of 2 crossing rifles with a target above them, which my research has told me denotes a higher level of accuracy from the factory. These rifles are unique in that the sight picture is intended for the front sight to align with the bottom rear sight "V".
Everything seems to be in excellent condition considering its age. I have not personally fired the rifle but I do have 20 rounds of ammo that would be included with the rifle and if it doesn't go bang I'd happily return your money (when it was inspected they said everything looks fine). This is the 30.7in barrel. I unfortunately don't have any of the clips that would be used for loading this rifle but it can be loaded one round at at time and they're pretty easily found online.
