Item Description: For sale: FAS/Fabbrica Armi Sportive Model OP 601. This pistol was introduced in 1973 specifically for rapid fire competitive shooting. It is chambered in .22 Short and features a slab-sided, removable barrel that is ported to reduce recoil/muzzle rise. It utilizes a 5-shot magazine which is loaded through the open breech. The axis of the bore is low in relation to the grip, adding stability. Barrel measures 5-1/2" in length. Two factory magazines are provided. This was purchased new, by my father, in the late 1970s with a damaged handgrip. He sent the damaged grip off to Herrett's and the results are awesome. They fabricated this walnut, thumb shelf, palmswell, right hand only grip with the adjustable heel plate that makes this handgun so intuitive and comfortable to shoot. Overall condition is very good with a few light handling marks. The mechanics are in perfect working order and the trigger is very crisp, pull is measured in ounces.
