Item Description:
I got this rifle as part of a package deal a couple months ago. I don't know much about Enfields, but I'll tell you what I can about this rifle:
Rifle is a No.I Mk.III*, built by Ishapore. Original date is unknown, but it has a refurbish stamp, dated '41 (the first year Ishapore started converting older guns to the Mk.III* pattern). No import mark that I can find, and it's wearing the "deer rifle" stock that was common of 1950s imports.
The safety was removed at some point, either by the importer, or afterwards. Bluing varies; light in some areas, dark in others, and there is missing bluing on the bolt. The only rust I have found on the gun is on some of the stock hardware; namely, stock screws and sling swivel. There is some light pitting on the rear sight protector. The rear site has a cotter pin through the actual sight pin, and it looks newer. Could be original, but I have no clue.
Bore is dark, rifling looks pretty strong. There is some muzzle wear, but a .311 bullet fits the muzzle just right. Magazine functions perfectly, removes easily, and locks crisply in place. Bolt functions butter-smooth, and trigger pull is fairly light, and is pretty even.
Buttstock has some pin-hole gouges along both sides, but they are fairly light, and don't photograph well. Wood feels nice, and has a good texture to it.
I have not shot this rifle, only taken it apart to inspect and clean it, then tested it for function by cycling and dry-firing it. There was a pretty heavy layer of residue in the barrel when I cleaned it, and it looked pretty recent, so I think it was shot shortly before I bought it. I also ran my electric bore cleaner in the barrel for a bit, and got plenty of copper, but absolutely no rust.

*Rifle comes with 40 rounds of brass-cased ammo (newer production)*

Will sell for $175.00, or trade for any of the following:

Mosin-Nagant (91/30, T-53, M-44, etc)
7mm Mauser (Spanish, Mexican, South American)
Ammo: 7x57mm, 7.62x54R, 5.56x45mm M855, .45 ACP

Would like to meet within 30 min to an hour of Conyers, but might be willing to go farther. Also, trade value must be similar to my listed value of $175.00-$225.00. Thanks!

I guess my pictures didn't upload with the post. Oh, numbers match on bolt, receiver, and barrel. IMG_0279.jpgIMG_0282.jpgIMG_0592.jpgIMG_0593.jpgIMG_0595.jpg

Bump. Also, regarding trades: I'd value a spam can of 7.62x54R at around $110.00. M855 is about $0.35-$0.40 per round. For .45 ACP, 7mm Mauser, it would depend on what you've got. I'd like to do a straight-trade for a Mosin or a 7mm rifle, possibly with a little ammo, depending on what you've got. I don't want to nickle-and-dime anyone; I'm trying to get rid of this rifle, because I got it as a project gun. Too many projects are on my plate right now, and I don't really want to buy another caliber of ammo, just for this rifle. Thanks, and if you've got a different trade idea, like ammo cans, AR-15 parts, mil-surp gear, etc, let know!

My father had one of these and didn't know I wanted it. I didn't learn until after he passed that he'd sold it. The a'hat who bought it wouldn't even talk to me about buying it back.
