Item Description: Mauser HSc 7.65mm 1945 Production French Vietnam Bringback 3 Magazines
I have owned this specific pistol since late 2017, below was the description when I brought from a gentleman in Nevada.
"1945 French occupation HSc pistol issued to french police. I cannot document provenance. I picked this up from a vet moving into assisted living. The story is that this came back from Vietnam after being carried in country.
I have traced serial numbers and markings. It is a late 1945 Oberndorf production and bears numbers on the base of the frame that indicate police issue. 1945-46 Oberndorf Mauser factory production HSc pistols are known to have been issued primarily to French troops in then French Indochina.
The pistol has significant patina, but is flawless functionally. No corrosion or damage to the internals.
The springs were replaced with a complete Wolff set a few years ago. The pitting on the left side of the frame and slide is from jungle carry, and the rest of the pistol shows only worn bluing. Grips are in very good condition, also. Bore is very good.
The pistol shoots very well. It does prefer European .32 (S&B or Fiocchi) and not the super low pressure "lawyer ammo" of white box domestic production which very occasionally
fails to cycle the action completely. I shoot a number of .32 pistols (but my collection is shifting heavily towards soviet sphere cold war firearms) and this one
definitely shoots well. This one lacks to original magazine, but has 3 included. Two function well, the third has not been ground down on the front feed lips (you
can see the difference) to work in this model."
