Item Description: This is a model 1898 US Springfield Armory in 30-40 Krag. It has signs of wear and tare and is unknown if it is a shooter or will shoot. Is NOT in original condition. It has an aftermarket Fajen stock and the original flip up sight has been removed and a Williams peep sight has been installed on the rear of the action. As someone I talked with recently about it said, "It has been sporterized". He claimed it was a common thing to do with these older military guns back in the 50s and 60s. It has the side loading 5 round magazine and if you want to look it up in a blue book, you will need to look under the Krag Jorgenson guns. It would be a nice addition to someone's older military collection and could most likely be put back to original condition if someone has the desire to do so. I acquired this in a bulk buy and do not have any interest in older military rifles.
If you want to look at it we can set something up. I do not want to ship it as I want the buyer to have it in hand and see for himself before purchasing. Any questions send me a PM and I will give you my number to text or call me about it.
