Item Description: Up for sale is an Iver Johnson Champion 16 gauge shotgun with an extremely rare Alofs Reloading magazine.
The Alofs Relading magazine is a bolt on attachment for single barrel break-action shotguns from the 1920s. These have been made famous in recent years because of Forgotten Weapons and video games like Hunt: Showdown. Designed to increase the capacity to 5 shells and to automatically reload the chamber by breaking open the gun. Around 1000 Alofs auto loaders were produced around 1924 as a cheaper alternative to buying a new expensive semiautomatic or pump-action shotgun, as most people of the time owned single barrel shotguns.
At this time there are estimated to be about 200 12 gauge examples left, this specific one is 1 of about 5 examples in 16 gauge.
