Item Description: For sale is a 1964 Revelation Model 116 (Marlin 57M) chambered in 22 Mag. (.22 WMR). These solid rifles were referred to as “Levermatics,” as they have a short-stroke finger lever for quick ejection and reloading. This gun has a 24” micro-groove barrel and is in fine shape; it comes with a Barksa Plinker 22 (4x32mm) scope. According to William S. Brophy’s book, Marlin Firearms: A History of the Guns and the Company That Made Them, Marlin made a total of 66,889 of the 57M during the period of 1959-1969; of that total, from 1964-1965, they made just 1,388 of these rifles for Western Auto Supply Co. There is no serial number on the rifle, but the barrel bears a Marlin “DH” manufacture stamp, which indicates a production date of April 1964.
