Item Name: Item Gone: FS Remington Rand/Colt 1911A1 Rig--SPM Tomorrow!
Location: Monroe, GA
Item is for: Sale Only
Sale Price: $950
Caliber: 45
Willing to Ship: No
Bill of Sale Required?: No
Item Description: Last up for sale (for now) is a 1911A1 that I inherited from my Uncle a couple of years ago. I have other 1911s that I shoot, and I just don't enjoy this one like I should, so it needs a new home. I believe my Uncle got this one back in the 1960s (he was a Master Sergeant in the US Army), and it is a Remington Rand slide on a Colt frame with original grips. It has a Colt barrel (I am pretty sure not original to the frame) and shoots really well. Everything cycles well with Ball Ammo (never tried Hollow Points). Bore is excellent, bright and shiny. I am not sure what type of finish it has on it (it looks like browning-out rust blue, not Parkerizing as it should be), but it looks really “aged” and nice in my opinion.
Also, I also inherited his “US” 1942 Boyts holster that will go with it. Very nice also, with no broken stitching or tears/deep scratches, just some light scratches and creasing from age. This is a really nice, authentic holster that is getting more-and-more valuable.
Finally, he also had six magazines for it that I will sell too. Three have no markings and look like newer manufacture. One (that came in the pistol when I got it) has no markings but enough patina and browning to make me believe it is WWII era. Two are 1970s era with “Mfr. 30740” on the bottom of the baseplate, which is Mason Rust Company of Pittsburgh, PA (not collectible, but good quality mags).
This is a great rig for someone who wants a “real” 1911A1 rig without paying thousands.
Willing to meet only in Monroe and Social Circle (sorry for the inconvenience).
Thanks for looking!
